Altus High School’s Kaprie Craddock has emerged as one of the area’s most driven and versatile volleyball players, combining size, skill, and a relentless mindset to elevate both her game and her program. At 6-foot tall, the junior has developed into a multi-position threat, contributing as an outside hitter, middle, and right-side option while also embracing responsibilities as a defensive specialist when needed. Her all-around ability has made her a key piece for Altus as the program continues to grow and compete with more established teams.
Volleyball is more than just a seasonal sport for Craddock, it is a year-round commitment. Whether competing for her school or training and playing with her club team in the offseason, she consistently seeks opportunities to improve. That drive is fueled by a deep internal motivation. Craddock embraces challenges, using both setbacks and outside doubt as fuel to push herself further. While she strives for perfection, she understands that true success lies in achieving excellence through steady growth and effort.
Her development has been shaped by strong influences, including former Altus standout Keely Brown. As a freshman, Craddock benefited from Brown’s mentorship, gaining confidence and perspective that continue to guide her today. Now a college volleyball player, Brown remains a role model, embodying the standard Craddock hopes to reach. Equally impactful has been Coach Garrison, whose support and coaching style have allowed Craddock to thrive both as a competitor and as an individual. His ability to embrace her personality while sharpening her competitive edge has been instrumental in her growth.
Faith, passion, and a willingness to learn are central to Craddock’s approach. She credits her faith as a steady foundation while maintaining a mindset that values being coachable and committed. That approach has already led to a major milestone, setting Altus’ single-season kills record, a testament to her offensive impact and consistency.
Despite individual success, Craddock remains focused on team dynamics and growth. She values competition, even when facing close friends on rival teams, and takes pride in representing Altus on a larger stage. She also recognizes the contributions of teammates like libero Jordyn Huckins, whose defensive efforts often set the tone for the team’s success.
Balancing academics, training, and competition requires discipline, but Craddock embraces the challenge. With her focus, versatility, and leadership mindset, she continues to raise the standard for Altus volleyball while building toward an even brighter future.
