There is a lot of effort and dedication that is required for an athlete to be the best. Devin Madison, who is a senior at Altus High School, says that he has done a lot to get where he is today.

“It has taken a lot of hard work over the years,” he said. “It has been tough at times because there may have been something that I really wanted to go to but I knew that I needed to put in the work. Sacrificing is not always easy, but it definitely pays off.”

Madison plays football, basketball, and baseball for the Bulldogs. On the football field, he plays at tight end, while on the basketball court, he is a small forward. He also plays in the outfield as a member of the baseball team. He says that sports have been a big part of his life for as long as he can remember.

Throughout his career, Madison has made a lot of memories, both on and off the field with his teammates. Out of all of them, he says that there is one basketball moment that tops all the rest.

“We were playing Elgin during my freshman year,” he recalled. “I hit a game-tying three pointer late in the game. It felt really great to sink that shot under that kind of pressure.”

Devin has had numerous people that have made a difference in his life, but he says that there is one that has had a huge impact on him.
“My mom would have to be the biggest role model for my life,” he said. “She is the strongest person I know and she is always there to support me.”

He also had support in the classroom, where Devin said that he was able to learn from his favorite teacher.

“Mrs. Mcleod would have to be my favorite teacher,” she said. “She is a fun teacher and she has known me since I was born.”

Along with athletics, Madison is a member of the Link Crew, which is a group that shows freshman around and helps them learn their way around the school.
