Question and Answer with Altus’s Evyn Bull – Volleyball Spotlight – Presented by Chad Lee, State Farm

Question and Answer with Altus’s Evyn Bull

VYPE: Who inspires you? Explain.

Evyn Bull: Someone that inspires me on my team is Hayden Castillo because she has gone through a lot physically with different injuries, yet she continues to push through and be a hardworking and dedicated teammate. This is inspiring because it pushes me to want to work harder.

VYPE: What grade are you in this year?

EB: I am a senior this year.

VYPE: Favorite subject in school and favorite teacher from any grade?
EB: My favorite subject in school is math because it comes easily to me and my favorite teacher was my freshman year geometry teacher Mrs. Bailey.

VYPE: Who is the best setter on the team?
EB: The best setter on the team is Olivia Williams. She is a great leader and makes sure to set everyone.

VYPE: What do you enjoy most about being a member of the team?
EB: My favorite thing about being on this team is how close everyone is with each other. We all connect very well and have a great friendship with everyone.

VYPE: What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
EB: In my free time I enjoy playing pickleball with my friends and swimming.

VYPE: Which teammate is the most vocal and which teammate keeps everyone laughing?
EB: The teammate that is the most vocal would be Olivia Williams because as the setter she has to run the plays and be loud. The teammate that keeps everyone laughing is Jaylee Carmen.

VYPE: What has athletics taught you that you may use later in life?
EB: Athletics have taught me a lot of things like responsibility, communication, dedication, and working with others. I feel like I will use all of these in the future.

VYPE: Toughest gym to play in and why?
EB: The toughest gym I remember ever having to play in was at Duncan because we are such big rivals.

VYPE: What do you love most about your team and teammates?
EB: I love how my teammates never get mad at each other. If someone makes a mistake, they just tell them to shake it off and move on to the next point. I think this is one of the reasons we do so well as a team.

VYPE: What teammate is always going to the floor for a dig?
EB: Jordyn Huckins will throw her body all over the court in order to get a ball up and keep it in play.

VYPE: Jump serve or standing serve? Which do you prefer and why?

EB: I prefer to stand serve because I have more control with the ball and I am able to place the ball where I want to when serving.
