At just a sophomore, Ketcher Lamb has already made his mark at Altus High School as a hardworking multi-sport athlete who balances his time between football and baseball. Whether he’s blocking as a left tackle, crashing through the line as a defensive end, or taking the field at first base, third base, catcher, or pitcher, Lamb’s versatility and commitment set him apart.
For Ketcher, his motivation comes directly from those around him who push him to improve every day.
“The teammates around me and the ones that push me to be a better version of myself motivate me,” he said.
Above all, Lamb’s faith forms the foundation for who he is—both on and off the field.
“Jesus is my biggest influence,” Ketcher shared. “He sacrificed himself for everyone, and doing so gave us eternal life.”
When asked about the teacher who’s had the biggest impact on his life, Lamb again turned to his faith.
“Jesus is the best teacher for anything you need,” he said. “He teaches you how to be a child of God and live your life for Him.”
Ketcher believes success comes from loving the game and being willing to put in the work.
“When you truly love a sport, you’ll do everything it takes to be great—like watching film or fixing your swing,” he explained.
One of his favorite memories came when Altus beat Noble to secure a playoff spot, a defining moment in his young career. And when it comes to rivalry games, one opponent always stands out.
“I enjoy beating Duncan the most,” he said. “We’re big rivals.”
Off the field, Ketcher stays active in both the National Honor Society and Leadership Council for Football, balancing academics and athletics with discipline and focus.
“Find time for both and don’t take time off,” he said.
Representing his school and community holds deep meaning for Lamb.
“It means we are all family,” he said. “We’ll do whatever it takes to take on any hardships together as a family.”
