Altus’ Jamele Alexander – Football Spotlight – Presented by Dobbs & Braddock Insurance

As he heads into his senior year at Altus High School, Jamele Alexander is ready to leave his mark. A two-sport standout, Alexander shines on the football field as a wide receiver and cornerback, and carries that same explosiveness onto the track.

Driven by a deep love and passion for the game and the presence of his family cheering from the stands, Jamele has developed into one of the most consistent and dynamic players on the field. His junior football season was a breakout, averaging around 100 receiving yards per game with multiple catches and 2–3 touchdowns nearly every outing. That success, he says, came from development, attention to detail, and unwavering consistency.

Standing as a role model of discipline, Jamele finds strength in staying busy, whether it’s through practices, schoolwork, or personal improvement. His inspiration comes from NFL stars Tank Dell and Tez Johnson—players who, like Jamele, may not be the biggest in stature but prove that heart and hustle can’t be measured.

Off the field, Jamele credits English teachers Mrs. Latham, Mrs. Miller, and Ms. Lampkin for helping him adjust when he was new to Altus. “They made sure I had everything I needed to be successful,” he said.

Jamele’s favorite rivalry is the annual matchup against Cache, a game dubbed “The Battle of the Bulldogs.” He also loves the friendly competition with his cousin Khamden and friend Kashton, who always push him to be better.

Though he doesn’t spend much time on social media, Jamele watches and learns from NFL players, always looking for ways to elevate his game. Being a Bulldog holds a deep personal significance—his mother is an alumna, and the opportunity to represent Altus under the Friday night lights is something he holds close to his heart.

As his senior year begins, Jamele Alexander embodies everything Altus athletics stands for: grit, pride, and relentless dedication.
