Athletes invest a lot of time and effort in order to be at the top of their game when they compete. Along with all the work, motivation can also play a big role in their level of success. Noah Tesh has worked hard to become the wrestler that he is today, but he says that there is someone special in his life that has helped him stay motivated.

“It has taken grit, determination, and hard work to be successful,” he said. “But more importantly, just loving what I do. My aunt Amy is someone that I look up to and helps me stay motivated. She is currently battling stage four glioblastoma, which is a type of brain cancer. She’s the strongest person I know, so if she can fight for her life why can’t I do everything to the best of my ability.”

Noah is a senior at Altus High School. Along with being on the wrestling team, he also plans to play baseball in the spring. Outside of school, he is also in a wrestling club called Team Worx.

Throughout his career, Tesh has made a lot of memories on and off the mat. But he says that there is one moment that stands out the most to him.

“The highlight of my career so far has been qualifying for Fargo Nationals my Freshman year,” he stated. “It had been a dream of mine to compete with Team Oklahoma since I was ten years old.”

Something else that has helped him become the wrestler that he is are his teammates. Noah is thankful for how well they work together and make each other better.

“Every teammate that works with me in the room brings value and a different set of skills,” he said. “So I enjoy working with the whole team.”

In the classroom, Tesh has learned from a number of teachers, but he has had a few that have had a bigger influence.

“The teacher that has had the biggest impact on my life would be either Mr. Farquhar or my Coach Keilan Torres,” he said. “They always motivate me, keep me accountable and push me to achieve my goals.”
