Altus High School Junior Harley Snapp is a multisport athlete for Altus Bulldogs. Harley has done track for 4 years, and has been a member of the pom squad for 3 years.

When asked what motivates her, Harley explained, “What motivates me is my will to be better and be encouraging and kind to others.”

Most students have a favorite teacher that has stood out to them during their schooling. Harley did not hesitate to state who her favorite teacher is. “My favorite teacher is definitely my second grade teacher, Mrs. Abernathy. She was such a great teacher, as well as being the sweetest and most kind lady I have ever met.

Every student athlete has a memory in their high school sports career that sticks out as their favorite. Harley actually has more than one moment that she deemed as her favorite. She stated, “I have two favorite memories so far in high school sports. That moment was “making it to state in pom my sophomore year, and once again doing it again during my junior year.”

Asked what it means to represent her school and community when playing high school sports, Harley elaborated, “It means to always be courageous, determined, and strong.”

In regards of there being a favorite high school rival team she enjoys seeing Altus beat, Harley stated, “The rival I enjoy seeing us beat is Duncan just because of the rivalry between the two school, and because it a lot of fun!”

Besides being a multisport athlete, Harley is involved with other activities at Altus High School, including being a member of Key Club, and The National Honor Society.”

After graduating from Altus High School, Harley plans on pursuing higher education. Harley has not yet decided where she wants to attend college, but stated, “I plan on going to college and becoming an early childhood system educator.”
