Missael Castro is a junior at Altus High School and plays forward striker on the men’s soccer team. He has been playing soccer since he was a little kid. His family and the passion in the sport made him decide to pursue it and stick with it all these years.
“I love scoring and how it makes me feel when I play. All my problems leave me for that whole 90 minutes,” said Missael.
Missael has always been a determined player and pushes himself to be the best he can be at practices and games. No matter what the scoreboard says or what may be going on around him, he always fights until the end.
Missael’s main role model is Lionel Messi.
“I look up to Messi because he has taught me to not give up and to fight for whatever I want in life,” said Missael.
Missael enjoys spending time with his teammates and describes them as being like brothers to him. His favorite memories from all his years playing soccer have all come from the times spent hanging out on the bus before and after games. His teammates mean the world to him.
He also has several things in his life that motivate him to be the best version of himself that he can be. God, his personal dreams for the future, family, and his girlfriend are all big motivators for him.
During his last seasons in high school, Missael wants to improve his game as much as possible. He is also hoping to make it to the playoffs this coming season. His goal for the rest of high school is to be seen by college recruiters and make a good impression on them. Missael also has high hopes of becoming a professional soccer player in the future.
