The Altus Bulldogs enter this wrestling season with experience, depth, and determination. Under the guidance of head coach Keilan Torres, the Bulldogs are bringing back a strong group of veterans, including eight seniors, along with a talented crop of underclassmen ready to make their mark. Torres said the mix of leadership and youthful energy gives this team the potential to accomplish big things.

“This year, we are coming in with eight seniors and some tough underclassmen in our starting lineup,” Torres said. “I have high expectations of this team and the leadership of this team. I am truly excited to get the year started and see how far we will go.”

Leading the charge is senior Samuel Arrington, a returning state qualifier and placer who brings both experience and intensity to the mat. Arrington has been a cornerstone for the Bulldogs and continues to set the tone in the wrestling room with his discipline and work ethic. Torres praised Arrington’s leadership and growth, saying his summer training has positioned him for a strong senior campaign. “He’s a great leader and a hard-working individual,” Torres said. “We’re excited to see how his hard work pays off this season.”

Another name to watch is Casyn Anderson, who narrowly missed qualifying for the state tournament a year ago after wrestling in the 5th and 6th place match. After an offseason focused on refining his technique and building strength, Anderson is ready to make the jump and become a key contributor. “Casyn has put in a lot of time and effort,” Torres said. “We expect him to come in and make a huge impact on our team this year.”

With veteran leadership, a relentless work ethic, and a coach who knows how to develop championship-level talent, the Bulldogs have all the ingredients for another strong season. The road won’t be easy, but Torres believes this group has what it takes to compete with the state’s best,  and perhaps add a few more names to the Altus wrestling legacy.
