Altus High School freshman Jeymon Reed is a multisport athlete, playing football, basketball, and running track for the Altus High School Bulldogs. In football, Jeymon plays the position of quarterback. He has played football in school for 3 years, and before that, Jeymon played 7 vs 7.

Jeymon is proud to represent both his school and community as a student athlete. Jeymon stated, “It means a lot to represent a town like Altus, that is so incredibly invested in their football team, ready to bring wins back to the town.”

In regards as to what it has taken Jeymon to become successful as a student athlete, Jeymon stated, “It has taken a lot of time and sacrifice, many late nights, and then playing the game. It also involves early morning weight lifting, but the process is fun for me so it is not a grind. My spots career is just beginning, but getting my first offer from Sacramento State was a very special moment.”

As far as what motivates him, Jeymon proclaimed, “There are two things that motivate me: winning, and glorifying God, while playing sports.”

In terms of his biggest role models, Jeymon looks towards family as the source. Jeymon stated, “My biggest role models are my parents. My mom is a big influence, because she puts others before herself and has always been there for me. And then my dad, for being a good Christian role model in my life to look up to and he taught me all I know about football and how to act in sports.”

Most student athletes have a teacher that has made an important impression on their lives. Jeymon explained, “The teacher that had the biggest impact on me was Mr. Cummings, because he showed me a lot about what it is like to be a true leader.”

In addition to being a multisport athlete for the Altus Bulldogs, Jeymon is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.

After graduating from high school, Jeymon plans on continuing his education. Jeymon stated, “I plan to attend college, and continue my athletic career, while in college.”
