The Altus Lady Bulldogs are poised to build off their impressive 2024 campaign and take the next step toward becoming a staple in Oklahoma’s volleyball postseason. After finishing 19-16 and advancing to the Regional Final—where they battled eventual state champion Mount St. Mary’s—the team returns a core group of experienced, motivated athletes eager to push further.
Head Coach Robert Garrison, now in his seventh year at the helm, has watched the program grow from a rebuilding effort into a legitimate contender. “We’d rather take on the best to become the best,” Garrison said, pointing to a reloaded 2025 schedule featuring elite North Texas schools and a trip to the highly competitive Claremore Tournament. “We’ve toughened up our schedule because this team is ready for it.”
A 20-win season and a state tournament berth are not just goals—they’re expectations.
Leading the charge is senior Katie Beth Davis, a three-year varsity letterwinner and the heart of the team. As team captain, “KB” brings leadership, consistency, and a team-first mindset. Despite recovering from shoulder surgery, she’s expected to be back at full strength by August. Ranking in the program’s top five in hits, blocks, and aces, Davis anchors the middle hitter position with poise and confidence.
Junior Jaylee Carmen is ready for a breakout year. After learning from top hitters the past two seasons, she now steps into the spotlight as both a middle and outside hitter. Known for her versatility, strong serving, and improved passing, Carmen will be a key all-around contributor this fall.
Kaprie Craddock made an immediate impact as a freshman last year, finishing second on the team in both kills and blocks. Now taller, stronger, and even more polished, the energetic sophomore brings both power and personality to the front row.
Also returning is Hayden Castillo, a three-sport varsity athlete and straight-A student who brings focus, maturity, and toughness to the court. Now fully recovered from a knee injury, Castillo is expected to make her presence known in a big way.
With talent, leadership, and momentum, the Lady Bulldogs have their eyes set on state in 2025.
