Q & A with Altus’ Colton Gillispie Presented by Frazer Bank

Colton Gillispie – Altus High School Frazer Bank
Colton Gillispie, a Junior at Altus High School loves competition. He began playing
sports when he was five-years-old. Colton plays AHS baseball and football. He took
time out of his busy schedule to answer a few questions about himself and athletics.


Q: What has your sport taught you that you use in your daily life?
A: To be focused and determined.


Q: What is your favorite part about being on a team?
A: Bonding with my teammates and coaches.


Q: Why are you passionate about your sport?
A: The process to get better and succeed.


Q: What is your favorite part about representing your high school as an athlete?
A: To represent not only Altus High School but Altus in general, once a Bulldog always a Bulldog.


Q: What is the best advice that anyone has given you?
A: It comes from Coach Reed. To be a better person, be accountable for myself and do the good things when nobody’s watching.


Q: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?
A: Kelby Bates, pushes me all the time and brings out physicality in me.


Q: Which professional athlete do you look up to and why?
A: Pat Tillman, he is a very physical and passionate player who played with a lot of heart.


Q: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade and why?
A: Mr. Dabelstein. He made geometry fun to learn and would always keep me humble. He is a super good person and a teacher I can always talk too.


Q: Who inspires you and why?
A: All my coaches inspire me. They inspire me to never give up on myself or my teammates. They encourage me to always give 100% effort and always have a positive attitude.

A: Shoutout to my brothers, my dad and mother and grandparents for always supporting me no matter the outcome.
