Every high school senior has something to look forward to going into their final year in school. For Altus senior Zoe Grubaugh, she’s ready to kick off to the fall fast-pitch softball season. Grubaugh primarily plays in the right outfield, but occasionally lines up in left field, and makes appearances at second base. Going into her final season at Altus, Grubaugh has big expectations for the season. 

“I am most looking forward to making it to the state tournament this year,” Grubaugh said. “We’ve put so much work in this summer and it’s only going to continue throughout the season.” 

Grubaugh and her teammates have worked hard over the offseason and have grown close throughout the years. This Altus senior class wants their final season together to be a memorable one. Grubaugh remarked on a special moment from last fall and hopes to recreate many more again this year. 

“My favorite memory so far was when we won the Sayre Tournament last year. We won almost every single game and it was a great experience with the seniors we had last year,” Grubaugh said. 

Grubaugh is thankful for the coaches she’s had at Altus. 

“I would definitely consider our head coach Jessica Robinson a role model,” Grubaugh said. “She is always there if you need anything and not only is she helping us get better at the sport, she’s teaching us great life lessons along the way.” 

After high school Grubaugh plans to enroll in a nursing program and work her way towards becoming a nurse practitioner. When she isn’t focusing on softball, academics, and just wants to relax, Grubaugh enjoys spending her free time with her friends and family, playing the guitar, or watching college football.
