Jenna Blackford is a freshman at Altus High School and a member of the varsity basketball team. Coach Terbush said of Blackford, “she’s an upcoming freshman that works hard and has a nice soft touch on her shot.”
The 5-foot-10 underclassman is hoping to help the varsity team this season. We caught up with Blackford just before the season got underway.
VYPE: Tell us your favorite memory as a student-athlete at Altus High School.
Blackford: On the second week of practice coach Terbush told us to get on the sideline. I thought we were about to run, but I wasn’t sure since we hadn’t started practice yet. Then she told us to get on our knees and show Harper (her grandbaby) how to crawl.
VYPE: If you could star in any TV show or movie what would it be and what role would you play?
Blackford: Greys Anatomy so that I could keep the people I like in the show from dieing.
VYPE: If you were stranded on an island who are the three people you would want with you and why?
Blackford: The people in the jungle who can build houses with what is around them from YouTube. The Rock because he is very strong and could help the people build houses and kill animals to eat. Tarzan because he would know the island really well and can talk to animals.
