ALTUS LADY BULLDOGS
ASHTON MCMAHAN
2020 RECORD: 4-15
After a season that didn’t go according to plan, the Altus Lady Bulldogs look to prove their doubters wrong by showing vast improvement. With head coach Ashton McMahan leading the group, they feel they have a chance to do just that, and then some.
With some talented players returning and some promising underclassmen, the Lady Bulldogs feel that improvement will be a no brainer. Not only does Altus have promising players, they also have very respectful and charismatic young women.
Anahi Gutierrez and Zoe Grubaugh are a coach’s dream. Gutierrez brings a high IQ to the field and the classroom. Grubaugh is a solid character type player who looks for ways to help the team win. She always makes sure to represent her team well both on and off the field, being the best person she can be at all times, and it certainly doesn’t go unnoticed. Coach McMahan has high hopes for Melissa Tamez. Tamez is an underclassman to watch for Altus and according to coach McMahan, she has the potential to lead this team despite her age.
The Bulldogs will look for Tamez to do various things throughout the season, and her coach believes she will be up for the challenge. Breanna Dayton deserves to be recognized as well for her selfless style of play. Dayton is the player that makes the biggest difference for her team oftentimes without recognition. Dayton makes sure she does whatever she can to help her team succeed. The Lady Bulldogs are destined to show improvement in the upcoming season, and with these players on their roster, success will come.
